Jon Corzine: Crackberry Trading Addict

For once, here's some good news for Research in Motion, at least Jon Corzine still uses a Blackberry. What's more, he loved to trade on it, even in meetings. I can see it now, a new commercial for RIMM, with Corzine trading on his Blackberry at home, at his lawyers office, at a Congressional hearing, and then maybe even from a cell.
His obsession with trading was apparent to MF Global insiders over his 19-month tenure. Mr. Corzine compulsively traded for the firm on his BlackBerry during meetings, sometimes dashing out to check on the markets. And unusually for a

These days everyone and their mother is looking for MF Global CEO Jon Corzine. Well, search no more, I've found him holding up a sign protesting Newt Gingrich believe it or not. As you can see, he's done a full reversal, instead of making huge losing leveraged bets on European debt he's now protesting corporate greed and excess. I love the peace necklace he's wearing. It's a nice touch. This is quite a disguise he's worked up. Reuters

Really, what was found was the back of Jon Corzine's head as he goes into his apartment and then we get a glimpse of the beard and his face for a second as he enters the elevator. Yeah, he was found but this could easily be just a stunt double. FBN, that's Fox Business News for those uninitiated with the greatest business news source in the world (sarcasm), has the story below. But where is the MF Global money? Was that in Corzine's pocket? The missing MF Global customer money has gone from $633 million to $1.2 billion to

Governor Jon Corzine Dealt with Lehman Brothers Then Got Wasted

CNBC's Gary Kaminsky goes back to the SALT conference that Jon Corzine attended in May, in which the former MF Global leader discussed the collapse of Lehman Brothers and what it was like to have a frozen account or not having access to cash in a money market. Corzine talks about how he dealt with Lehman Brothers and then went and got drunk. This would be of course when Corzine was the Governor of New Jersey. I wonder what his choice of beverage was? What did the poor man do when MF Global collapsed...?

$85,000 for a Painting of MF Global’s Jon Corzine

Do you have $85,000 you can spare? If so, you could get yourself a nice painting of for MF Global chief Jon Corzine by artist Geoffrey Raymond. Part of what makes the painting unique is he gets passers by and former employees of said company to write comments on the painting - I'm sure that the comments are in good taste. Yeah, right. He takes the pictures to the so called 'scene of the crime' to get these signatures that surround the sides and top of the paintings. I love the concept but not the price. It's a little steep

Leveraged Up the Wazoo, Corzine Gets His Come to Jesus Moment

Why is it so terribly interesting to read about the downfall of a firm on Wall Street? In this terribly good story in DealBook about the collapse of MF Global, we learn how incredibly leveraged up MF Global was on risky European debt and how Jon Corzine thought he could manage those come to Jesus moments when things go bad.
“Until you’ve actually traded and had to deal with one of those come-to-Jesus moments with a bad position,” he said, “and you have to make the decisions about whether to eliminate it, hold it, reduce it — those kind

A friendly protester down at Occupy Wall Street was kind and savvy enough to welcome former governor and Goldman Sachs chief Jon Corzine to Occupy Wall Street. Corzine of course was the CEO of MF Global, which just went bankrupt and regulators aren now saying failed to protect its customers' money. In fact, over $700 million is missing. Yes, missing. Getty

If you need any more evidence as to why people are protesting the behavior on Wall Street, look no further than MF Global, the firm run by former New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine and Goldman Sachs chief. I'm guessing Corzine is shaving off his famous beard and going into hiding. And yes, it's another firm run by someone who worked at Goldman Sachs - the so called vampire squid. MF Global is going through bankruptcy but now $700 million has gone missing. Details from DealBook:
The discovery that money could not be located might simply reflect sloppy internal controls
