From prison, where he will spend the next 150 years (in other words, the rest of his life), Bernie Madoff doled out some free advice for investors who might want to put their hard earned money in a hedge fund or the like.
MW: Your customers were given consistent, good returns for years. No one realized it was a Ponzi scheme until the financial crisis and clients demanded their money back. How can investors detect fraud like that? B.M.: If it sounds too good to be true, it is. One of the things that allowed me to go on as long as

As crazy as it may seem, I have to say I believe Ruth and Andrew Madoff when they say they had no idea that Bernie Madoff was running a Ponzi scheme. They certainly should have known, and it's amazing that they didn't ever ask any questions or dig deeper, especially when there were people who suspected that Madoff was running a scheme, but they seem like they are telling the truth. Ruth Madoff tells Morley Safer that after her husband confessed to running a massive Ponzi scheme the couple attended the company Christmas party.

"I feel safer here (in prison) than outside. I have people to talk to, no decisions to make. I know I will die in prison. I lived the last 20 years of my life in fear. Now, I have no fear because I'm no longer in control." (

Bernie Madoff Says He’s Treated Like a Mafia Don in Prison

Somehow I just don't think this will last too long for Bernie Madoff. I just don't think prison is going to treat him so nicely as the years go by. And I think he's probably wishing prison was like this or at the very least exaggerating. Perhaps what's happening is Madoff is on a high dose of medication and or has going senile. I'm guessing as his 150-year prison sentence reaches say year 10 or 20 hearing Uncle Bernie in the prison yard will get old. And when the quotes below make it out across the web, and especially to the

Chasing Madoff is the compelling story of Harry Markopolos and his team of investigator's ten-year struggle to expose the harrowing truth behind the infamous Madoff scandal. Yes, this is for real. A designer has made iPad covers fashioned from Bernie Madoff's pants and sweaters. And I guess people are actually buying these things, with one 'high-powered' Wall Street attorney buying up all the cashmere iPad covers to give out as Christmas gifts - or maybe April Fools jokes - hopefully. How much do they cost, only $350 green backs.
Frederickjames.com, a website that sells eco-friendly customized iPad covers, has created a limited edition Bernard Madoff Collection that is now on sale. The 31 iPad covers have been re-fashioned from the convicted felon’s pants

Poor, poor, Bernie Madoff says he doesn't want to die in prison. Sure, that's understandable, nobody wants to die in prison or go to prison. But maybe he should have thought of that before he started his ponzi scheme and destroyed the lives of thousands of people. It's too late Bernie, sorry. You made your bed so now you have to lie in it, as they say. The NY Times has the story.
Having served two years of his 150-year sentence, Bernard L. Madoff remains upset that Judge Denny Chin did not give him a shorter term, which might have
