Spain’s Plan to Save the Housing Market: Stop Having Sex in Cars, Have Sex in a Home

So this is how Spain plans to save the housing market, get those kids out of their cars having sex and into homes having sex.

The ad is called “Caught in the Act”, and features young Tios and Tias have sex in cramped cars. The aim is to get kids out of their parents homes and into rented houses. I think Dr. Ruth would certainly approve of the sex part, but she doesn’t care where it all happens, just as long as sex is taking place.

“We were brainstorming the moment when people most think ‘I need my own home’ and having sex in a car sprang to mind,” said Fernando Encinar, co-founder of Idealista. “Millions of Spaniards have gone through it.” (Bloomberg)

In a way it’s like those DirectTV ads, where they tell you to get rid of cable or you’ll end up broke on the streets of Vegas and end up selling your hair to get some money. Get a house or you’ll end up having sex in the car.

However, there’s one rather big problem, most kids don’t have jobs or the money to rent or much less buy a house. The youth unemployment rate in Spain surged to 52.1 percent in May. Yes, half the population of young hipsters aren’t working. Seems like all the sex is still going to take place in cars or apartments or at the parents house in hushed and muted groans. Dr. Ruth won’t be happy about that part – the kids having to keep quiet during sex at their parents house.
