Talk about “boosting” sales, a dose of Viagra in a condom, why didn’t someone think of this before. It just goes together. It’s like wine and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, whiskey and cigarettes. Well, not quite like all those things but you get the idea.

If you don’t like to wear condoms, this new development might change your tune. And it’s also going to make Futura Medical a potential takeover target. Futura is the maker of the Zanifil gel, which is said to increase blood flow to the penis. With this secret sauce in the condom there’s no need to ask your friend or doctor for Viagra anymore, it comes right with it like cinnamon toast. Well not exactly like that but you get the idea.

A new condom that aims to enhance erections may also lift earnings and buyout prospects for unprofitable U.K. drugmaker Futura Medical Plc. (FUM)

Durex condoms made by partner Reckitt Benckiser Group Plc will contain a dose of Futura’s Zanifil gel inside the tip, boosting blood flow within the penis. The product results in firmer, larger and longer-lasting erections for men who may find wearing condoms challenging, according to Futura.

Premium pricing may help the condom generate global sales of 150 million pounds ($235 million) annually within five years, tempting Slough, England-based Reckitt Benckiser to keep all that revenue for itself, said Daniel Mahony, who manages $300 million at Polar Capital in London. Reckitt Benckiser, the maker of Lysol cleaners, doesn’t usually agree to sales-sharing accords, which makes it likely takeover talks are under way, said Lala Gregorek, an analyst at Edison Investment Research.

“It’s essentially Viagra in a condom,” said Mahony, who owns shares of Guildford, England-based Futura. “I wouldn’t be surprised if Reckitt tries to either buy the whole company or buy that royalty stream out at some point.”

Futura Chief Executive Officer James Barder declined to comment on any discussions with Reckitt Benckiser. While Futura isn’t for sale, he said, “ultimately, we’re looking to optimize and maximize our return at the appropriate time.” (Bloomberg)

What’s more, Futura is also making a topical spray that helps delay ejaculation. Wait, let me just spray myself first. OK, all set. Meanwhile, Reckitt Benckiser, the maker of Durex condoms, also makes some other interesting products, from stain removers to dishwasher tablets to a heroin substitute. Yes, a heroin substitute. So soon we’ll be hearing about how they not only added Viagra to the condom but straight up heroin.

I’m going to make a wild guess and say all condom manufactures are going to start selling condoms with Viagra in them. Shoot, soon enough they’ll start putting Viagra in everything. Oh yeah, and even heroin if you want it. Merry Christmas.
