CNBC’s Fast Money anchor Melissa Lee was having what she thought was a normal conversation with Pete Najarian after the show when he kept barking out things he would say if they were live.
It was like he became possessed or something. He just started spitting out robotic like answers with numerous exclamation points at the end of each phrase. Catch phrases he uses on the show that didn’t pertain to anything she was taking about, in the slightest.
Melissa Lee: How do you feel about your wife being on the new Wall Street Wives reality show?
Pete Najarian: “Giddy up!!”
Melissa Lee: “Yeah, it should be exciting…but a lot of attention…you might not want.”
Pete Najarian: “Volatility and the volume are increasing and people are expecting a move!!!”
Melissa Lee: “What did you say? Where are you guys headed for vacation?”
Pete Najarian: “It bounced off the 50-day. Giddy-up!!”
Melissa Lee: “Funny, yeah. No, I thought you guys were going fishing or something near the lake…”
Pete Najarian: “Buy some protection!!!”
Melissa Lee: “No, really, we’re not live anymore, you know? Fast Money is over. I was just asking you where you were going…”
Pete Najarian: “Exploding to the upside!!”
Melissa Lee: “Pete, are you ok? We’re not live now. Honest. The show is over.”
Pete Najarian: “It’s a buy. Giddy up! Love the option action in the tech sector!”
Melissa Lee: “Hey, snap out of it man. The show is over.”
Pete Najarian: “If you want to get into this space, Ebay is the stock to buy!!”
Melissa Lee: “Dude, what the hell….”
Pete Najarian: “It’s starting to move up and I think it goes higher!”
Melissa Lee: “What the f@#$”
Pete Najarian: “Look at some options. Giddy up!”
Melissa Lee: “Dude…”
Pete Najarian: “Have an exit planned before you get in!!!!”
He continued on like that until his brother Jon Najarian yanked him by his ponytail and he snapped out of it. His brother said it happens every now and again when things get stressful. He said August has been a tough month for everyone, obviously.
