Why is Demand Media’s Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO, Richard Rosenblatt, covering his name tag with his hand? In Sun Valley for the Allen & Company Conference, Rosenblatt appears to be trying to hide who he is for some reason. Google knows who he is. Eric Schmidt knows how is.

Or, maybe, the photo just catches him slapping on his name tag. Doubt it. Either way, I bet he tries to make peace with Google while at the conference in some way. It’s only Eric Schmidt at the conference though, as Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin have other plans. That might be a good thing for Rosenblatt, perhaps he can get some one on one time with Schmidt and make his case.

Remember, Google is making an effort to weed out ‘content farms’ from their search results. Demand Media’s recent IPO wasn’t as strong as it could have been due to Google’s algorithm adjustment. Demand Media’s stock ticker, DMD, priced at $17 and then went all the way up to $24 a share, but within three months it was cut in half to $12 a share.

“Google completely understands the issue and how Demand Media and Associated Content and these content aggregators are polluting the Web,” said Vivek Wadhwa, a visiting scholar at the University of California at Berkeley, who recently wrote on TechCrunch about his difficulties with Google’s search results. Wadhwa said his meetings in recent weeks with Google executives left him believing the company is determined to tweak their search results to “beat Demand Media at their own game.”
